Gnomon 1 - Modeling Shadow of a Gnomon

Move the slider at the bottom of the page or use the animate buttons in the lower right corner to play the animation. The animation assumes 12:15 pm is "high noon" when the sun is directly over a point on the equator. The angle is set so that 6:15 a.m. is -90 degrees and 6:15 p.m. is 90 degrees making the shadow extend a negative value in the morning and a positive value in the afternoon.
