Focus Question

Take a look at how many points were necessary to construct GrandConcourse line.  Then, take a look at how many points were necessary to construct WaltonAvenue line, which is parallel to GrandConcourse line.  Why do you think only one point (Point C) was needed for WaltonAvenue?

Classwork

1. Construct a line called GerardAvenue, that is parallel to WaltonAvenue line to the left. GerardAvenue line must be constructed using only one additional point. 2. Construct a line called 144thStreet, that is perpendicular to GerardAvenue line. Again, it must be constructed using only one additional point. 3. (Open) Construct as many lines as possible that may map the streets and avenues around the school.
