Spherical Mirrors: Multiray

  • Move points F and H to look at different collections of light rays from the object bouncing off the mirror. Where do they indicate the image is?
  • Move point D to change the location and height of the object.
  • Is the image upright or inverted? Is it larger, smaller, same size as the object? How do your answers change as you move the object closer to or farther from the mirror?
  • Turn on showing the image location. What happens as the height of the object increases relative to the radius of the mirror? (Spherical aberration)
  • Drag point D through the mirror to study the other kind of mirror and repeat your observations above.
