Volumes and Surface Areas of Similar 3D Figures

Consider the two questions above and discuss your thoughts with your group. After you've discussed, answer the questions below.

1. What is the ratio of the side length of your original cuboid, to the enlarged cuboid? 2. What is the ratio of the surface area of your original cubiod, to the enlarged cuboid? 3. What is the ratio of the volume of the original cuboid, to the enlarged cuboid? 4. Do you think your observations from #1-3 will hold true if you change the size of your enlarged cuboid? Imagine adding one more rectangular prism to the length (that is the same as the original) now consider how the surface area and volume of the new enlarged cubiod have changed. 5. Can you use your observations to make a conjecture regarding the ratio of similar solids regarding length, surface area, and volume?
