Here we have a balance with 3 kg on the left and an unknown mass x on the right.
Suppose we want to make the balance tilt to the right. We have to make the right side heavier than the left !
What are the possible values of x so that the right side of the balance is heavier ?
If you say x has to be more than 3, you got it right!
x could be any value, for example 3.01, 3.1 or 3.2 or 4 and so on.
How do we write "x is more than 3" ? it's x > 3
We were looking for values of x which will make the balance tilt down on the right.
We say that the solution for x is x > 3
