Wrapping the Number Line on a Circle

As you drag the slider for t a point is drawn on the vertical number line and the corresponding point is drawn on the circle. The length of the arc from the point (1, 0) to the point on the circle is equal to the length o the vertical line from (1, 0) to the point. This illustrates the wrapping of the line around the circle. You can see the line in the positive direction being wrapped around the circle and the line in the negative direction being wrapped around the circle by using positive and negative values for t, respectively.
