DBR (Wang & Hannafin, 2005)

DBR is a methodology designed by and for educators that seeks to increase the impact, transfer, and translation of education research into improved practice. In addition, it stresses the need for theory building and development of design principles that guide, inform, and improve both practice and research in educational contexts. (Anderson & Shattuck, 2012)   The main characteristics of design based research are: (a) collaboration among researchers and practitioners in real-world settings, (b) interactive, iterative, and flexible, (c) integrative and leading to contextually-sensitive design principles and theories.
