Study Graphs of Trigonometric Functions

Author:
Lew W. S.
This applet allows for two trigonometric functions with upper and lower to be introduced using input boxes. The x axis can be toggled between degrees to radians using a button, and limits set using input box. This applet lets the user study the various trigonometric functions and impact on changes of the coefficients a, b & c where the trigonometric function is of the form f(x) = a sin(bx) + c ; a cos(bx) + c or a tan(bx) + c
What is the effect of changing "a"? What is the amplitude of the given function? How does "b" affect the number of cycles (repeat of basic patterns) in 360 degrees or 2 pi radians? What is the period (for 1 cycle) of the given function? What is the effect of changing "c"? Is there a shift of the axis of the curve of the function ? and in which direction?
