Directions:
1. Open the interactive figure in Geogebra and click on the arrow button to be able to move the sliders.
2. Look at the corresponding worksheet and set the sliders at the correct locations.
3. Do not change the “total distance ran” slider.
4. Move all of the other sliders to see what percentage each group of people ran.
5. Watch the corresponding “Distance ran,” change for each individual when moving the sliders for the groups.
6. Add up the individuals, “Distance ran,” and move the corresponding sliders to determine when the “Total distance ran” is equal to the sum of all the individuals distance ran.
7. Move the “Distance ran,” slider, and repeat steps 4-6 to find what percentages, if any change.

Questions:
1. What do the percentages correspond with when moving each slider? (The individual number of miles ran.)
2. Why can’t Aaron and Beth run 70% and Candace and Darvel run 40%? (That would make the sum of the individual total more than the total distance ran.)
3. When the total distance ran is 30, and Aaron and Beth ran 40%, Beth and Candace ran 34%, Candace and Darvel ran 40%, and Darvel and Emile ran 41%, what was the total distance ran by Candace? (5.7 miles.)
4. When the total distance ran is 46, and Aaron and Beth ran 40%, Beth and Candace ran 34%, Candace and Darvel ran 40%, and Darvel and Emile ran 41%, what was the total distance ran by Darvel? (9.66 miles.)
5. When the total distance ran is 12, and Aaron and Beth ran 40%, Beth and Candace ran 34%, Candace and Darvel ran 40%, and Darvel and Emile ran 41%, what was the total distance ran by Beth? (1.8 miles.)
