G-CO.12 Construction #4 Bisecting an Angle

Bisect Angle ABC.

Steps. 1. Center your compass at B, and draw an arc that intersects both ray BA and BC at points E and F. 2. Using E and F as centers, draw two arcs with the same radii that intersect at point D. (Point D should be in the interior of ABC.) 3. Draw ray BD. Ray BD is the angle bisector.

Angle ABC is acute.

Angle ABC is obtuse.
