Tri - Angles
In class, we talked about the word TRIANGLE. We talked about other words that had the same parts. We talked about TRICYCLE and BICYCLE. We guessed that TRI might mean THREE. But we are still trying to figure out what ANGLE means. On this page, you can see a TRIANGLE. You can change the triangle by moving around the colored points. Make as many different triangles as you can think of. Then, do the math. Follow the directions on the screen. Also use your paper worksheet. Write down the values of the letters (A, B, and C). Also write the sum (A + B + C). Write these things each time you make a new triangle.
What patterns did you notice on your paper worksheet? Why doesn't the sum of A + B + C ever change? Discuss with your classmates.
