Transformed Parabola

A virtual manipulative is an interactive, computer based virtual representation of a dynamic object. In this manipulative, the object being represented is a parabola of the form . Students interact with the manipulative by adjusting the values of a, h, and k using the sliders in the bottom left hand corner of the screen. The manipulative is dynamic because as the sliders are moved the shape of the parabola is simultaneously transformed. It allows students to grab hold of the parabola as if it were a real world object.
