Vertical Transformations

Vertical Transformations are one of the most simple types of transformations. All we are doing to the graph of f is shifting each y value up or down by c units. To do this, we quite literally add c to y, giving us y+c. So if y is a function of x, say , then if we wanted to shift the graph up by 5 units, we would plot .
