Football & Handball in Parameter Space

This applet allows you to explore the trajectory in space of a ball thrown in the {x,y} plane, as well as the x and y positions of the ball as functions of time. When you insert a wall at a suitable chosen position along the x axis, the ball is reflected back to the person who threw the ball. If you do that... does the trajectory in space change?, does x(t) change?, does y(t) change? Where does the wall have to be placed? Right click and hold to 'tumble' the 3D view.
The wall is shown as a plane perpendicular to the {x,t} plane and parallel to the {y,t} plane. Can you explain why the wall is depicted this way?
