This is a demonstration of the properties of the non-rigid transformation known as a dilation.
Preimage = Blue triangle
Image = Red triangle
What do you notice about the effects of a scale factor which is:
- equal to 0?
- greater than 0 but less than 1?
- equal to 1?
- greater than 1?
- between the scale factor and the distances of the preimage and image vertices from the center of dilation?
- between the scale factor and the side lengths of the preimage and image?
