Geometry Performance Task Your task is to design a map that includes several different kinds of lines, angles, and quadrilaterals. Your map can be of a town, your neighborhood, or an imaginary place. It must however include the following: Your map must include the following: · At least two sets of streets that are parallel. · At least two sets of streets that are perpendicular. · At least one street that intersects another street to form an obtuse angle. · At least one street that intersects another street to form an acute angle. · At least two streets that have a line segment. · At least two street that is a line. · At least one street that is a ray. · An ice cream parlor shaped like a hexagon · A pool shaped like a pentagon · A pizza parlor shaped like a parallelogram · A restaurant shaped as a trapezoid · A park shaped as a kite · A grocery store shaped as a rectangle · A skate park shaped like a rhombus · A toy store shaped like a parallelogram · A school shaped like an isosceles trapezoid · A library shaped like a square · About 3 or more  houses- Various shapes ~Each place must have a street that connects it to the town ~You may have more places on your map (baseball field, roller rink, etc.)
Once your map is completed, you are to write out two sets of directions from one place to another. Each set of directions must have one of these terms: parallel, intersecting, or perpendicular. These directions should be able to get your teacher and classmates from one place to another without getting lost! Be prepared to share your map with the class!
