Jennifer earns $24 per hour for a 40 hour work week. She also earns time and a half for every hour over 40 hours that she works in a week. Jennifer’s gross pay last week was $1140. Write an explicit equation that can be used to determine the number of overtime hours, x, that Jennifer worked last week. Then, solve for that number of hours.
