Translation

A translation is a slide or shift of an object that doesn't change the size or shape of it and moves along a vector. Therefore the distance between each pair of corresponding points on the pre-image and image are the same distance from each other. Some real life examples of translations are sliding a checker across a checker board, and moving desks around a classroom. In the translation above the square is translated down 2 units and to the right 4 units along vector EF.
