Midpoint Formula

Author:
Tom Maes
C is the midpoint of segment AB. Drag A and B around to new coordinates to try to determine a formula for the coordinates of the midpoint of any segment given the coordinates of its endpoints. Be sure to explore when the segment is horizontal, vertical and oblique (slanted). It may be helpful to keep the coordinates of A and B as whole numbers.
Given any segment whose endpoints have coordinates (X1, Y1) and (X2, Y2), write a formula for determining the coordinates of the midpoint of the segment. M =
