Distance Formula
The distance formula is used to calculate the distance between two points on a graph. In order to use the formula correctly you must plug in the X values and the Y values as told to in the equation. Once the values are plugged in you must then subtract the values inside the parentheses. After you have done this you must then square the values within the parentheses and once you do that you must add the values together. Finally you then take the square root of the sum of the two numbers. An example of this process is shown below. The points being used are (-6,7) and (24,-36)
