Major vs. Minor Arc
Where is the central angle? Where is the inscribed angle?
Move points D and C. What do you notice about the measure of the central and inscribed angles?
Now move point E? What happens?
What do you notice about the intercepted arc ( also called the minor arc)?
Could you find the measure of the major arc?
Things to add to your notes:
Central Angle theorem: Measure of the inscribed angle is half the central angle.
Major Arc= 360 - minor arc
Arc Addition Postulate: the measure of an arc formed by two adjacent arcs are the sum of the measures of the two arcs.
