The graph represents the position of a bungee jumper as a function of time.
By moving the points, you may study the properties of average velocity which is the slope of the secant line going through the points.
As the points approach each other, the time interval decreases. As a result, the average velocity approaches the instantaneous velocity at the point of intersection.
