A.1.9.2 Finding Spreadsheet Statistics

Use the seperate GeoGebra titled "A.1.9.2 Spreadsheet For Split Screen Use" to complete these problems. You may need to make the spreadsheet more than half of your screen to see everything.

In cell D1 type the following (be sure to include the = sign) =Sum(A1:A20) Type your answer to the sum below

In cell D2 type the following (be sure to include the = sign) =Mean(A1:A20) Type your answer to the mean below

In cell D3 type the following (be sure to include the = sign) =Median(A1:A20) Type your answer to the median below

We can use GeoGebra to create displays.
  • Click the letter A for the first column so that the entire column is highlighted.
  • Click on the button that looks like a histogram to get a new window labeled "One Variable Analysis"
  • Click the to see many of the Statistics. (you might need to click the small arrow on the right to show the style bar)

Click the again to hide the Statistics. Now, adjust the slider next to the word Histogram. (you may need to hide the style bar to see the slider - click the little arrow on the right) What changes when you move the slider?

Click on the word Histogram and look at a box plot and dot plot of the data. Click on the gear icon to see what elements of the graphs you can change.
