Geogebra Lesson
Construct a rectangle and use this to answer the following questions.
Construction:
1. Construct a segment between two points labeled A and B.
2. Construct a perpendicular line to segment AB through point A. Repeat through point B.
3. Construct a new point C on the line perpendicular to AB through point B.
4. Construct a parallel line to AB through point C and then construct point D where this line intersects the line perpendicular to AB through point A.
5. Hide all of the lines and create segments between the points.
Now that you have constructed a rectangle, move the points around and observe the changes in the object.
1. What relationships between the sides of this object exist?
2. Do these relationships change when points are moved?
3. What is the relationship between the four angles of this object?
4. Do these relationships change when points are moved?
