Application 1 - Reflection

Interpretation

The two eigenvectors that correspond to the eigenvalue 1 are both lying in the plane of reflection. These vectors remain unchanged after transformation. The eigenvector that corresponds to the eigenvalue -1 is perpendicular to the plane. Its magnitude will not change after transformation, but it will be reflected across the plane defined by the other two eigenvectors.
