Triangles and Perimeter

Below is a sequence that examines the relationship between the number of triangles to the perimeter of the object created.

1) Create Figure 4 using the “Copy” feature. "Copy" will create a single triangle on top of the given triangle. You will need to be in "Pointer" mode to click and drag the triangles to create the figure. Write the number of triangles and perimeter in the table. Click on each cell in the table to fill in the numbers. The ordered pair will automatically be created. 2) Continue this process. If you think you see a pattern, try filling in the table to see if the relationship continues. 3) Determine the function that represents the relationship between the triangles and perimeter of the created object. Write it in the “Input” box at the bottom as “f(x) = ”.
