Vector Directions (Polar, Navigator and Cartesian)
This applet shows the equivalent directions using the polar, navigator and cartesian methods.
The circles represent the distance from the reference point A and the lines radiating from the origin are arms separated by 15 degrees. The vector v is initially 6 units long (magnitude) at a polar positive angle of 30 degrees. (To return to initial conditions press the reset icon at the top right of the applet).
v is at the head of the vector and can be moved. To change the magnitude and direction of the vector click and drag v. v will snap to the grid at the points of intersection otherwise all values will be given to two decimal places.
