Projectile Motion

Submitted by Mr. Donald C. Albin Jr. Professional Educator www.donaldalbin.99k.org Preliminary Questions:
  • When you throw a baseball, how do you make sure the ball reaches your teammate?
  • If you're throwing to home place, how do you throw a ball differently whether you are in the outfield or on first base?
  • When hunting with a rifle or bow-and-arrow, how do you hit your target?
  • How is the projectile motion in hunting different from the projectile motion in baseball?
Projectiles, such as balls, arrows, and rockets, are quite common to the human experience. Do you ever throw a baseball, play tennis, target shoot, or hunt for game? There are many factors that affect the flight of projectiles. This simulation will help you investigate projectile motion.
