I started my construction by drawing segments AB and DC. Then, I drew two circles with the compass around each segment making the segment the radius of the circle. Then, I connected segments AD and BC, and drew the perpendicular bisectors EF and HG. Line AB and DC are both perpendicular to segment EG which means they have the same slope and are parallel. This proves that the shape is a trapezoid due to the opposite sides being parallel.
