Transformation
Can we determine what the transformation is?
In the above figure, we can see that the blue curve and red curve are somewhat related. The goal was to figure out what the transformation was.
The Bible speaks often of the transformation that Jesus wants to accomplish in us.
Romans 12:2: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Ephesians 4 also talks of the transformation.
Ephesians 4: 20 That, however, is not the way of life you learned 21 when you heard about Christ and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
With this transformation, we become new, and are given a job as Christ's ambassadors.
2 Corinthians 5: 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
For many that Jesus encountered, He did not have to tell them they were sinners. But He did not leave them as sinners.
John 8: 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
Our challenge, as His ambassadors, is to do the same. To communicate love and grace, but not simply overlooking sin. Not everyone understood Jesus as He did it. We are not always successful as we try to repeat His example.
