Tom is preparing to drill a hole in a concrete wall.  Tom rests his ten foot ladder against the wall at an angle of π/3 from the ground.  Tom picks up his heavy core drill and climbs up the ladder.  However, the weight of the drill and Tom is too much.   When Tom’s feet are half way up the ladder, the bottom of the ladder begins to slip away from the wall.  Tom fell to the ground but he was okay, just sad.  Sad Tom doesn't like to fall.

Task 1

Come up with a parametric curve representing the movement of the top of the ladder sliding down the wall.

Task 2

Find a parametric curve representing the movement of the bottom of the ladder sliding away from the wall.

Task 3

Find a parametric curve for the movement of Tom’s feet as the ladder slid down the wall.  What is the shape of this curve?
