Dilation and the Sine and Cosine Curves

1. Click on Show Cos. Move the slider and notice what happens to the graph and the equation of Cosine.
Describe in words what happens. How does this relate to the equation? Summarize.
2. Click on Show Cos in order to turn off Cosine and turn on Sine. Notice the 1/2 tool in the toolbar. This tool dilates the sine
curve by a factor of 1/2. Use it on the sine curve and describe what happens to the sine curve. Try to find the equation
that fits the new graph based on what you discovered previously. Try to find the equation that fits it.
