Translations with Coordinates

Author:
Jan Mays
Topic:
Coordinates, Translation
By viewing the coordinates, one can determine how to apply the vector to the coordinates of the points of the pre-image triangle. In this example, 1 needs to be added to each x-coordinate and 3 needs to be added to each y-coordinate of the pre-image. It is customary to label the image points using primes. So the image of point A is A', the image of point B is B', etc.
