G.GSRT.6 Similar Right Triangles and Trig Ratios

Notice that the two right triangles are similar because of SAS. 1) Use your calculator to find the tangent of the acute angle of Triangle ABC. 2) Take the lengths of the given two sides of ABC and divide the opposite side by the adjacent side. What do you notice about this value and the value your calculator gave you in the first step? 3) Use Triangle DEF and repeat steps 1 and 2. Compare the values to the values you had for Triangle ABC. 4) What can you conclude about the trigonometric values of similar triangles? 5) Change the value of the acute angle and test again.
