BE SURE to move the vertices and sides of this rectangle around after completing each step in order to help you make more informed conjectures:
1. Measure and display the lengths ofall 4 sides. What, if anything, do you notice?
2. Use the midpoint tool to construct the midpoint of AC (even though you haven’t constructed AC yet.)
Label this point “E”.
3. Construct segments AE, BE,CE & DE. Measure and display their lengths.Drag the vertex A of the rectangle. What do you notice? Describe in detail.
4. Do the diagonals of rectangle bisect each other?
5. Measure all 12 angles that you see now in the rectangle.
6. Are the diagonals of a rectangle perpendicular to each other?
