Constructing Segment Bisector

Topic:
Geometry
In this activity we want you to use your compass and straightedge (line segment) to bisect the segment AB. To prove that you have created a true bisector measure both sides of the segment and move the endpoints around to ensure both segments on either side of the bisector stay the same length. Again if you get stuck, you can use the boxes to see the step by step solution. Only use this if you absolutely need it. Written out Steps: Step 1) Create a circle centered at point B with radius AB Step 2) Create a second circle, this one centered at A with radius AB Step 3) Find the intersections of the two circles and mark them D,C Step 4) Create a line segment connecting to two intersection points (D,C) one above and one below the line segments AB Step 5) Find the intersection of line segment AB and segment DC.
