Forces on Inclined Planes

In this dynamic model the resulting force on an object on an inclined plane is obtained by adding the force arrows of gravitational force and normal force . Without friction, the magnitude of the resulting force on a cart can be measured depending on the angle of inclination using a force meter. To confirm the concept of adding forces, the mass of the cart and the angle of inclination must be set in the model corresponding to your setup. Compare results several times by varying mass and angle.

Instructions

    • Put the model on your surface as described on the AR instructions page
    • Move the cross in front of the inclined plane
    • Align the line parallel to the plane by moving the slider
