Copy of Transformations Performance Task

Step 0: Choose an image you want to transform.

Draw this picture below in Quadrant I so that there are at least 5 whole number points on your object you can perform the indicated transformations. You must have 5 of these points that determine the object's basic shape. You will then translate, reflect, rotate and dilate these five points in a composite transformation.

Write the coordinates of your object from Step 0.

Step 1: Reflect your object through the x-axis.

Write the coordinates of your new object from Step 1 and the rule that accompanies the transformation.

Step 2: Translate your new object (from Step 1) 3 units to the left and 2 units up.

Write the coordinates of your new object from Step 2 and the rule that accompanies the transformation.

Step 3: Reflect your new object (from Step 2) through the line y=x.

Write the coordinates of your new object from Step 3 and the rule that accompanies the transformation.

Step 4: Rotate your new object (from Step 3) 90* counter clockwise about the origin.

Write the coordinates of your new object from Step 4 and the rule that accompanies the transformation.

Step 5: Dilate your new object (from Step 4) by a scale factor of 2 from the origin.

Write the coordinates of your new object from Step 5 and the rule that accompanies the transformation.
