This activity allows users to enter in values for computing the confidence interval of a ratio of variances from data from a normal distribution. The bounds for the degrees of freedom are 1 to 200, the bounds on the variances are 0 to 200. The bounds for the alpha level are 0 to 1. The activity will output the critical values from the F-distribution, the point estimate (ratio of variances), and the lower and upper bounds on the interval. The user may supply the degrees of freedom for the first and second set (first set is dftop) and second set is dfbottom). Var 1 and Var 2 are the variances from the respective data sets and alpha is the alpha level (1 - confidence level) for the interval. Great for practice problems.
