The goal of the game is to select the best formula to use for finding a value of a right triangle given two other values of the right triangle as quickly as you can. The two green highlighted items are the values you know and the red dashed item is the value you want to find. The goal is to choose the formula for obtaining the value you want.
The timer starts when you select your first formula. A popup will display a results summary when you select 20 correct formulas. ( Currently the results summary on the web site will disappear if you select past 0 problems. )
Notes on variables in the formulas:
is a known angle
is the unknown angle
Adj. is the length of the side adjacent to the known angle
Opp. is the length of the side opposite the known angle
Hyp. is the length of the hypotenuse
a or b are side lengths with 'a' being the unknown side is there is one
c is the length of the hypotenuse
This may seem like a lot of formula choices but there are really only 5 formulas, Trigonometric definitions, Pythagorean Theorem and Angle sum. They are shown in different forms.
