Theorem 7
The perpendicular line from the centre of a circle to a chord bisects the chord.
In plain terms:
Take a look at the graphic below and you will see that the distances for BD and CD are equal when the Chord BC is bisected by a perpendicular line from the Centre Point O the distance.
