The Position of a Mirror Image
With this dynamic model it is possible to determine the position of the mirror image. Visualised rays from object point O hit the mirror axis. At every point P, the mirror reflects the rays according to the law of reflection. The extensions of the reflected rays intersect behind the mirror.
Instructions
- Put the model in front of a plane mirror as described on the AR instructions page
- Place an object (for example a coin) in front of the mirror
- Align the blue mirror axis with the real mirror and point O with the object
- Add more rays by moving the slider p and see where the extensions intersect
