Planter (AR Modeling Challenge)
- Tim Brzezinski
In this GeoGebra Augmented Reality modeling challenge, our goal is to author 2 surface equations (with domain restrictions) to model the pottery piece shown in the screencast below. Modeling Clues: 1) The pink surface is a frustum of a cone. Cross sections of this surface and any plane parallel to z = 0 are circles. This cone has its apex at (0, 0, 1). The radius of the wider opening = . The radius of the smaller opening = . 2) The blue surface is part of an ellipsoid with center (0,0,0). The vertices of this ellipsoid are located units away from its center. No domain restrictions were used for this surface.
