Dilate...measurement...

We'll take a moment to think about the various aspects of shapes and how they change if we dilate them.

Dilate the segment BC from A by a factor of 3.

If BC is x units long, how long is B'C'?

Dilate the square BCDE from A by a factor of 3.

If the area of BCDE is x square units, what is the area of the square B'C'D'E'?

By analogy, we dilate a cube C from the same point A by a factor of 3 and get the cube C'. If the volume of cube C is x cubic units, what is the volume of C'?
