The student will enter the

**slope**and**y-intercept**by solving for y with the equation of the form:**a x + b y = c**. The linear equation**slope-intercept form**is**y = m x + b**. When is there no y-intercept? When is the slope undefined?When slope is

**m = 0**, you may not be able to enter the correct y-value, b, for the intercept. {This is a limitation of computer programs due to round-off errors.} When the slope is undefined, there is no y-intercept. Activity requested by Dr. R. Balotro.
