Gears meshing

Author:
jeromeawhite
Topic:
Geometry, Parametric Curves
Maybe you've seen the famously-problematic poster (below applet) that depicts education as a set of three meshing gears, representing: Students, teachers, parents. While my students don't have much trouble recognizing the misfortune of this metaphor, I still felt like making an interactive applet that allows the user to vary:
  • number of gears
  • location of center of each gear
  • number of teeth on each gear
